We present another very important bee product in our range: propolis drops 15%, 50 ml. The product comes in a practical, handy dark glass bottle with a dropper. This means you can always have it to hand and support your body exactly when the need arises.
Propolis - properties:
- An antibacterial and antiviral action: Propolis is a source of many bioactive substances that work well in fighting infections, colds and flu

- A wealth of antioxidants: The numerous flavonoids, phenols and phenolic acids contained in propolis fight free radicals, helping to slow the ageing process and keep the skin looking healthy.
- It supports the digestive system: Using it regularly supports proper digestion and helps soothe intestinal inflammation, and it can also be invaluable in the fight against Helicobacter pylori.
Propolis drops - how are they made?
Propolis drops, that is the popular propolis tincture, have for centuries been made from bee glue as a natural raw material straight from the apiary. It is made from a mixture of tree resins and the bees’ glandular secretions, which they use to seal the hive and keep it sterile. Bee glue as a raw material is an excellent base for making healthful tinctures. To make one, the resinous substances must be dissolved in alcohol – most often a propolis tincture is made by pouring spirit of the right strength over bee glue. This is the traditional way of drawing the health properties from this noble raw material straight from the hive, used successfully for generations, but the use of ethanol may rule some people out. Listening to those needs, we went a step further towards making propolis practical to use. We drew on the latest research and made our tincture using propylene glycol. It is a safe ingredient found widely in many medicines, dietary supplements, drops and creams (including those for children). Propolis is a source of many valuable substances. Over 300 active substances have been identified in its composition, including:
- Flavonoids - these compounds have strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.
- Phenols and phenolic acids - they are responsible for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Vitamins - propolis contains vitamins B, C, D and E.
- Minerals - it contains, among others, magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium, zinc, iron, copper and silicon.
- Essential oils - they give propolis its distinctive smell and have an antibacterial effect.
Thanks to such a rich composition, propolis displays a range of health-promoting properties:
- It supports immunity - thanks to its content of vitamins and minerals, propolis strengthens the immune system.
- It has an antioxidant effect - the flavonoids, phenols and phenolic acids it contains fight free radicals, protecting cells against damage and inflammation.
- It has antiseptic properties - essential oils and other active compounds help fight bacteria, viruses and fungi.
- It affects general well-being - the presence of vitamins B, D and E supports the functioning of the nervous system and contributes to better well-being.

How to use propolis drops?
For adults and children over 11 years of age, we recommend dissolving 1/2 a teaspoon (20-50 drops) of the preparation in a small amount of water or honey (about 30-50 ml). Take once a day for 3 to 12 weeks. It should be taken before or during a meal. The frequency and dosage should be adjusted to individual needs and preferences.
Propolis - use with children
For children aged 1 to 10, use half the adult portion, that is 1/4 of a teaspoon (10-25 drops) in the form of a water solution or in honey. We recommend consulting a paediatrician beforehand so that they can advise on individual dosage and on any contraindications to any of the product’s ingredients.
Propolis drops for pregnant women
Because there is insufficient research on the safety of using propolis preparations, because of the potential risk of allergic reactions and because of the possible effect of the active substances on the immune system, some doctors recommend avoiding propolis during pregnancy (especially in the first trimester).
Propylene glycol, the excipient used, is considered safe during pregnancy, but caution is advised when applying it to the breasts while breastfeeding. Although the substance is widely used in cosmetics and recognised by the FDA as safe (the GRAS list), it is always worth consulting a doctor.
Propolis, pollen or bee bread - the differences
Propolis, also known as bee glue, is a natural antibiotic that works especially well during illness and in fighting infections. It will also help in treating wounds thanks to its antiseptic properties. Flower pollen is a natural multivitamin. It works as a daily form of supplementation and of building the body’s immunity, to prevent infections and dips in immunity. Flower pollen, however, has the lowest absorption of the bee products mentioned, so using it properly and regularly is especially important in order to achieve the best results. Bee bread, in turn, is a highly absorbable derivative of flower pollen. It has a richer composition and better absorption. It is excellent when we need a quick recovery after illness or surgery.Propolis - contraindications and side effects
Before using propolis drops for the first time, it is worth carrying out an allergy test – apply a little of the preparation to a small patch of skin and check the reaction. If you plan to take it internally, start with a minimal dose (a few drops dissolved in water) and observe your body. If symptoms such as a runny nose, a rash, a headache, nausea or diarrhoea appear – stop using it immediately and consult a doctor.
- The preparation should not be used in the case of allergy to bee products or flower pollen, or of hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the preparation.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as children, are advised to consult a doctor before introducing propolis into their diet.
- Do not exceed the recommended daily portion.
- Propolis as a dietary supplement must not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
- Remember that a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are very important.
- If you have any doubts about using the product, consult a doctor and confirm that there are no contraindications to taking it.
