Description

Goldenrod Honey - the Golden Treasure of Autumn straight from a Polish apiary

Goldenrod Honey is decidedly harder to obtain than other kinds of honey, partly because every beekeeper has to leave a certain amount of it as winter food for the bees. Goldenrod honey is one of the latest autumn honeys, which makes it exceptional and sought-after. Goldenrod is at the same time a valuable medicinal plant, known for generations and very common in the Polish autumn landscape. It should be noted that goldenrod honey is among the honeys with the strongest antibiotic properties. This distinguishing property has won it many loyal supporters. Goldenrod honey contains flavonoids – mainly rutin and quercetin – which improve the blood supply to the veins of the lower limbs and to the kidneys. The honey also contains essential oils, tannins, organic acids and mucilaginous substances. It also contains bactericidal substances, vitamins and a considerable amount of microelements.

Goldenrod Honey - health-promoting properties:

  • Particularly helpful in urinary tract infections – this is the most valued property of goldenrod honey.
  • Used in treating an enlarged prostate (as is heather honey).
  • Supports the body in respiratory tract infections.
  • It strengthens the blood vessels, contributing to better circulation.
  • It supports the prevention of heart disease.

Honey from goldenrod - natural support from the “Polish mimosa”

The honey is made from the nectar of goldenrod , a plant colloquially called mimosa, golden rod or golden maiden. Goldenrod is a yellow plant growing in meadows and forests in the southern and eastern parts of Poland. It is known for swaying gently in the autumn wind. Farmers commonly regard the plant as a weed. It should be remembered, however, that it is one of the most productive melliferous plants. It is a very valuable plant both for beekeepers and for bees. It flowers at the turn of August and September and on into late autumn (sometimes even until the first frosts). Goldenrod blooms most intensely in September, that is at the time when bees begin their winter preparations. It should therefore be remembered that every beekeeper must see to feeding the bees late for winter if they want to obtain honey from goldenrod.

Why is Goldenrod Honey worth reaching for?

  • One of the latest autumn honeys – harder to obtain and exceptional.
  • It has the strongest antibiotic properties of all honeys.
  • Natural support for the urinary tract, the prostate and the circulatory system
  • Rich in flavonoids, essential oils, tannins, vitamins and microelements.
  • A distinctive taste with a tart note and a delicate bitterness.

Goldenrod Honey - how to use it:

Support in urinary tract infections – regularly taking a teaspoon of honey dissolved in a glass of lukewarm water or a herbal infusion can support the fight against these complaints. Remember that the temperature of drinks should not exceed 40°C.

For prostate prevention – include goldenrod honey in your daily diet as natural support for the urogenital system.

For digestive support regular consumption may contribute to improved functioning of the liver and gall bladder.

For general strengthening of the body and the heart – take it regularly as part of a balanced diet to support the blood vessels and prevent heart disease.
