Description

Bee bread Treasures of Roztocze

- once again appreciated with the title "Appreciate Polish - Top Product" , during the 49th certification of traditional Polish products. We would like to thank you for your trust and appreciation of our work with this distinction! The bee bread we offer is frozen, dried, aired and tightly packed in jars, which guarantees its safety and the preservation of all its health-promoting properties.

What is bee bread?

Bee bread  is created from pollen brought to the hive by a forager bee, which is not collected by a collector, as is the case with pollen loads offered, but is instead transferred to a worker bee in the hive, who then places it in wax cells in a frame, cleverly stuffing it with her snout. When collecting pollen from flowers, and also during this process, the bees enrich the resulting bee product with enzymes from their salivary glands.

When the cell is almost full, young worker bees add some royal jelly and honey to it, and the whole thing is secured with a thin layer of beeswax. The product prepared in this way, due to the constant temperature in the hive at around 30 degrees Celsius and the tight structure of the cell and the presence of royal jelly, starts the process of lactic fermentation, which refines this product, preserves and enriches the pollen with additional micro- and macro-elements, vitamins, and makes it more digestible.

To obtain 1 kg  of bee bread , it is necessary to clean from 5 to even 30 frames. After being collected from the hive, the frames are scarified to crush the beeswax and to obtain bee bread from them. In the next step, the obtained bee bread is dried at a temperature of up to 35 degrees Celsius and, before being placed in tightly closed jars, it is winnowed in a winnowing machine to get rid of minor impurities. Most of the activities are often performed manually, which is why trace amounts of beeswax resulting from uncapping the bee bread from the frames or its elements may occur in it infrequently. The most bee bread is obtained during abundant pollen harvests and at the end of the season when some frames are withdrawn and the size of the colonies is reduced for wintering. The bee bread

we offer is dried to protect it from mold and to preserve it in order to maintain a long shelf life without the need to maintain a cooling chain. During drying, it gets rid of excessive water, which makes it drier and harder, but this is not a degree of hardness that makes it difficult to eat directly or bite. We would compare it to the hardness of a candy bar, but it will certainly not be so soft that it will fall apart under the tongue - this may indicate too much water in the product or its immaturity or unnatural origin.

Bee bread is known for its  health-promoting properties - its composition   includes a number of vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, PP, E, D, H, K, B12) and minerals (iron, phosphorus, potassium, copper, sodium).  Bee bread  is usually bought in the form of brown granules, sealed in a tight jar to prevent moisture, which is its biggest enemy, and to protect the product from moths.

Bee bread is best stored in a dry, cool and shaded place - the best place will be a cool pantry, basement or garage, but if we do not have such conditions in our house or apartment, the refrigerator will also be a good place (just remember to close the jar well).

Bee bread - properties, use:

  • It is perfect for regenerating the body, especially after surgery and procedures.
  • It stimulates the body's nervous system in states of depression and has a strengthening effect in connection with the occurrence of the so-called chronic fatigue syndrome.
  • Bee pollen can also detoxify the liver and minimize digestive problems such as ulcers, diarrhea and constipation.
  • Since bee pollen is used not only orally, but also on the skin as an ingredient in homemade masks, it is perfect for skin regeneration and for stimulating the body's production of collagen.

How to use bee bread?

The recommended daily dose of bee bread for an adult should be around 10/15 g, or around 1 teaspoon.  Bee bread  is an easily digestible product for our body, which cannot be overdosed. It can be added to morning oatmeal, yogurt or tea, although the best effects of  using bee bread  will be achieved by using the following proven method:

Step 1  - in the evening pour lukewarm water over 1 teaspoon (approx. 10g) of bee bread
Step 2  - leave this solution overnight for 8-10 hours
Step 3  - consume the solution in the morning on an empty stomach (you can add honey for taste)

It is important that the water is not hot - maximum 40 degrees Celsius, but we recommend less, so that the bee bread does not lose its healing properties. It is recommended that such a treatment last at least 3 months. It is best to use this treatment in the autumn and winter period, when there are the most infections in society. If you have additional questions on  how to use bee bread,  please contact us.

Of course, such bee bread can be consumed directly dry, but according to the knowledge of Prof. R. Czarnecki - the father of apitherapy in Poland, he encourages the consumption of bee products in the form of an aqueous solution, which according to his research increases the absorption of these products into our body by up to 8-10 times. We believe that it is worth using his scientific achievements and fully using the potential of this extraordinary bee product.

Remember, however, that bee bread, like any other bee product, can cause allergies. Therefore, we recommend caution in the case of people suffering from allergies. It is always worth consulting a doctor to determine the details of using bee products.

Bee bread for children - use:

Bee bread can be given to children from 3 years of age, however, before the first use, check whether the child has no allergic reactions to bee products or pollens that are an integral part of it by giving a small amount (e.g. 1 bee bread granule) directly or in the form of an aqueous solution. The recommended dose for a child is half of an adult's portion, i.e. 5-7 grams per day. Bee bread can be consumed directly, but it is best to give it in the form of an aqueous solution made in the evening, 6-10 hours before consumption. We also encourage adding a teaspoon of honey (preferably honeydew) with the bee bread in the evening, which, according to research by prof. dr hab. Ryszard Czarnecki, will increase and accelerate the effectiveness of the therapy, and the additional sweetness can also help the child accept its sweet-sour-bitter taste. The duration of such therapy should be 3 months to achieve optimal health benefits in the child.

Bee bread - contraindications and side effects

Remember!  Bee bread, like any other bee product, can cause allergies. Therefore, we recommend caution in the case of people suffering from allergies. It is always worth consulting a doctor to determine the details of using bee products treatment.

Before the first consumption, it is worth performing allergy tests, and also slowly introducing this product into your diet, starting with smaller portions and slowly increasing them.
Allergies to natural substances are relatively rare, but if they occur, you should immediately stop using bee products.

Potential side effects of eating bee bread include, among others , a runny nose, hives on the skin, persistent headache, nausea and diarrhea. An integral part of bee bread is flower pollen, so people allergic to pollen from flowers, grasses and trees should also be especially careful when consuming it.

Bee bread is obtained from bee frames, therefore due to the specificity of its extraction it will contain particles of beeswax which may cause stomach pain and indigestion in some people. If such symptoms are observed, we recommend straining the bee bread solution through a fine sieve, and if symptoms persist, discontinue this product from your diet and consult your doctor.

Bee bread during pregnancy

After discussing the possible side effects of consuming bee bread or exclusions, another important question cannot be omitted: can pregnant women consume bee bread?  As it turns out , this is a product that can be included in the diet during this special period. Bee bread will  not only enrich the diet, but also contribute to the proper development of the child.  It is a rich source of vitamins and minerals that support the immunity of expectant mothers.

There may be natural differences between product batches. This applies in particular to the degree of drying, and thus water content, product hardness or its color (from dark yellow to brown). In addition, the product may contain wax particles or other impurities related to the natural process of obtaining from bee frames. The above does not constitute a product defect, but confirms its craftsmanship and natural origin.
