Buckwheat Honey - the most “characterful” honey
Buckwheat honey has an extremely distinctive character, determined by the intense taste and smell of buckwheat. For this reason buckwheat honey has many admirers, but also its opponents. It all depends on our individual taste preferences.
Because buckwheat honey contains numerous substances that strengthen and cleanse the blood vessels (rutin), buckwheat honey is recommended to older people, among others, and to people diagnosed with atherosclerosis or in a high-risk group. The simple sugars contained in buckwheat honey are absorbed into the bloodstream without difficulty and can nourish the heart muscle in a fairly short time. It contains over 50% fructose and as much as 46% glucose. Thanks to their presence, buckwheat honey eliminates sugar as a significant risk factor for atherosclerosis.
