This is a unique nectar honey collected from an apiary set up on a highbush blueberry plantation, popularly known as blueberry honey. Many consider it the tastiest of honeys. It is a very hard-to-find variety, but thanks to the numerous highbush blueberry plantations it is possible to obtain.
The forage for blueberry honey is the highbush blueberry, also called the tall blueberry, a cousin of the wild forest bilberry. Its dark blue fruit is valued the world over not only for its taste but also for its exceptionally beneficial effect on the body – which is why we place our hives directly on highbush blueberry plantations, so as to draw on the properties of the blueberry and obtain a unique blueberry honey in cooperation with our bees.
